Okay, I have to admit, I’m a sucker for a handsome man that can sing. I also adore Ewan McGregor. Annnnnnd he sings in Moulin Rouge, all angsty and lovestruck, too. *swoon* It’s one of my favorite movies. So, I was listening to the soundtrack this week and I had an idea for a shawl inspired by Satine. (When I will get around to this on my list of “to-do” projects is anyone’s guess, however.)
I know I’m not the first person to be inspired by music, or characters. As a teenager, I used to hole up in my bedroom and draw while listening to — nerd alert! — the Final Fantasy III soundtrack. My music collection was neglected while I was in grad school (I like it quiet to study) and when my kid was an infant (AKA, the “oh god just sleep WHY WON’T YOU SLEEP DON’T WAKE THE BABY UP BREATHE QUIETER” stage). I’m looking forward to digging out some old favorites and kicking back with some yarn in between catching up on tv shows.
What do you like to listen to while you craft? Or do you prefer quiet? Do you find it influences what you make? Let me know in the comments!
